Headphones for the interpreted presentations
Obviously, you will need headphones in order to listen to an interpreted talk. To ensure that we have enough headphones available, you are invited to bring you own.
Checking in at the conference office
We’re not quite sure if all of you know: You should check in at the conference office as soon as you can to get your conference bag, your booklet, your wristband, your account and many other nice and useful items.
Changes to the program
Like every semester, there are some changes to the program. Some interesting talks have been cancelled, but we already arranged for some substitute talks.
One of them is Léon Ruffer’s presentation titled “When the Homophobe Goes ‘I love you, baby Joe’ – A stylistics approach to vocative norms and deviations”. The second and third are two instances of an interpreting workshop held by Nicoline Erichsen, Laura Hahn and Monika Rup.
We have established a HTML version of the program and we will try to keep it up to date.
Conference accounts for Wifi
As Heidelberg University offers Wifi via eduroam, those of you who use eduroam at their own university will be able to access our Wifi as they usually do.
For the rest of you, we have had accounts created which you can use during the conference. That way, you can access the unencrypted Wifi network UNI-WEBACCESS. If you are able to use eduroam, please do so not only because we have but a limited number of accounts, but also – and more importantly – because traffic within the eduroam network is encrypted.
If you want to use one of our accounts, please ask for it when registering at the conference office. Of course, you can always come back later to ask for one, too.
Accommodation and conference office
We were able to find enough rooms in hostels and one hotel so that we will not need to fall back to the option of couch surfing. Please refer to the information about accommodation to find out what you have to bring along yourself.
Besides, here are the opening hours of our conference office.
- We 5 pm -7 pm
- Tu 8 am – 7 pm
- Fr 9 am – 6 pm
- Sa 9 am -7 pm
You can also look them up on the page “Where is the conference going to take place?”.
Conference bags packed!
This morning we packed the conference bags with loads of useful items. Naturally, the bags in the picture are only a fraction of the enormous amounts we prepared. Now we are eagerly awaiting all of you!

You can look forward to a StuTS abundant in participants and presentations. Take a look at the program for some information about the presentation, Heidelberg and surrounding activities.
